LCHS Hires Cross Country Coach
Lexington Catholic is pleased to announce the hiring of Bernadette Madigan-Dugan as the new Cross Country Head Coach. Bernadette returns to Lexington Catholic where she served as an assistant coach for the Cross Country team, as well as the Track Team, for 3 years before taking this past year off.
“We are excited to welcome back Coach Bernie to the Lexington Catholic community. She has such a passion for coaching and molding her student athletes and we couldn’t be more pleased to have her back doing what she loves at Lexington Catholic”, says Interim Athletic Director Kevin Bruggeman
Coach Bernadette Madigan-Dugan on her new position: “I am very excited to be returning to coach Cross Country at LCHS this season. My true passion is to coach and mentor and to encourage others to reach their goals. As a former runner, I would like to coach others to experience the confidence and self-belief that running instilled within me. It is also my goal to not only coach an athlete, but help them with the relevant skills that will help them be champions not only in the sporting arena, but in life. Especially during these uncertain times with COVID-19 the following quote from Sir Winston Churchill is very relevant, “Success is not final, failure is not fatal, it is the courage to continue that counts.”
There are many peaks and valleys in life and sports and it is the strength and courage to continue that defines us. As a team (parents, coaches, runners). We will unite in the good times and the more difficult times.”
