Bio

Lawrence Banks received his Bachelor’s Degree from Morehead State University in Music Education. While in college Mr. Banks was a member of the Morehead State University Marching band, where he served as the Drum Major for 3 years. Mr. Banks is in his 9th year of teaching. He was the Assistant Band Director at George Rogers Clark High School and taught elementary music to grades K-5, in Winchester.
Currently, Lawrence is an employee of the Catholic Diocese of Lexington, where he teaches 5th-12th grade band at Seton Catholic School and Lexington Catholic High School. He also oversees the jazz band and percussion ensemble at LCHS. He has been a member of the Music Educators National Conference and the Kentucky Music Educators Association. In his spare time, Lawrence enjoys working with area high school marching bands. He is also a huge sports fan; where he loves to root for the UK Wildcats. In addition, Lawrence maintains a private lesson studio at the Don Wilson Music Company in Lexington.
Lawrence's performing experience includes the Morehead State University Symphony and Marching Bands, The Sacred Winds Music Ministries, Immanuel Baptist Church Orchestra, The Miles of Jazz Orchestra, The Bluegrass Area Jazz Ambassadors, The Central Kentucky Concert Band and the BlueBrass Quintet.
