All Girl Varsity vs. Game Day Division
All Girl Varsity
This team's performance will consist of a 2 minute 30 second pre-choreographed routine consisting of an opening stunt, standing tumbling, running tumbling, jumps, elite stunts, a 1-minute crowd-effective cheer, dance, and pyramid.
The Game Day championship showcases what traditional cheerleading is all about: leading the crowd! Teams will be evaluated on their ability to lead the crowd, proper game day skill incorporation/performance, motion/dance and overall routine. Each Game Day performance will consist of a 3 minute pre-choreographed band dance, situational sideline, time out cheer, and fight song.
Open Gyms will be 6-8 PM on the following dates: 6/12, 6/14, 6/19, and 6/22. These will be held in the Alumni Gym.
At open gyms, we will teach all of the tryout material (fight song, sidelines, tryout cheer, jumps, and tumbling). Open gyms will be "cheerleader-directed", and are highly recommended for tryouts.
Tryouts will be held on Monday, July 16th in the Alumni Gym. Middle school tryouts will be 6-7 PM and high school tryouts will be 7-8 PM. Tryout material consists of the following: fight song, sideline cheer, tryout cheer, toe touch, front hurdler, pike jump, and 2 optional tumbling passes.
Announcement of the teams will be posted on the LC Cheerleading Website after tryouts.
We will have a team meeting on Tuesday, July 17th from 6-7 PM in the cafeteria. We will discuss team expectations, schedule, financials, and fundraising. All cheerleaders and at least one parent will be required to attend.
Please see the attached list of dates for summer practice times. We will practice every day from 5-8 PM in the Alumni Gym. Practice will focus heavily on learning motions, sideline cheers, timeout cheers, and getting ready for the football season. These practices are mandatory.
