in the previous video you were shown how to set up your Lexington Catholic Microsoft 365 account if for some reason you've not completed setting up your account yet please exit this video and return to the previous video now that you have your Microsoft 365 account set up some additional setup needs to take place you'll need to find out how to download and install the Microsoft 365 application bundle how to set up your student email for communicating with your teachers how to setup your team's account for class work how to login to RenWeb so that you can find us and grades also connected to Lexington Catholic Student Wi-Fi please make sure you have followed the procedures in the previous video for setting up student Microsoft 365 account and that you have your new password handy with that you can log into office.com and use teams to find all the procedures you'll need for the start of school will cover that in the next slide before moving arm please remember if you're running into problems with any of the procedures you're about to see first of all relax there is a little that can't be fixed and at the end of this video will show you how to notify us if you need some help as we mentioned there's some additional work you need to do to be ready for school to start August and those procedures are posted in teams and let's go over exactly how you're going to go about finding those will pop open our Notepad Windows users you're going to be using the edge browser Mac users are going to be using Chrome I'm going to be logging on with my Lexington Catholic Student email address and I'm going to be using the password that I said way back at the first video I'm going to be going to office.com and I'm going to use teens once I get in there so let's go ahead and pop open the edge browser I'm going to go to www.office.com I'm going to text Diane and for my email I'm going to do students are one at Lexington catholic.com that was the information sent to me in the email that I received from Lexington Catholic they stood there and I changed my password from what they sent me I set a new password new password 67th I'm going to put it there yep. I didn't write click sign in and I'm not going to stay signed in for the time being and here we are we're at the homepage want you to look over. in the left-hand margin okay if you scroll down down down under outlook here ucteams click on that Antietam pool open I remember whenever you access these things from the website these are very dumb down versions of the full application it's going to give you some marketing information and right over here again in the left-hand column you'll see activity chat you'll hear more about those later but the one interested in right now is crazy the application teams there are things called teams little crazy so you have teams within teams if I click on teams I see all of the teams that I have access to right now I only have access to one team and that's the student it help desk you are all enrolled in the student it help desk if you go to teen and click on the student it help desk see what is the opening page of the student it help desk team over here not quite all the way to the left but pretty much to the left these are what are called channels you start out in the general channel is basic information they are at the help desk we have a news channel we're interested in right now though is the video channel so you can click on that then you're going to go up here to what they call the application bar and you're going to go to files going to click on that you're going to see a list of videos appear at the top read me first there's information in there if you click on that and open it up you'll see information that is contained as contained in the following videos and how you should go about reading them have a lot of little pop ups are telling about things okay so about these videos 12345678 it's telling you what you're going to find in each one of those videos basically you're going to need to watch all the videos you see Disappear by the time you're actually looking at this video there will be additional videos posted and you're going to need to complete all of these now they're not terribly long some of them are very quick but all these things you need to at least have looked at and if there's action on your part to take place you need to have all of that stuff done before the first day of school sometimes things just don't go according to plan if you're having problems and need some help you can use teams to notify us you need assist and give us details on what problem you're encountering Lexington Catholic uses a ticketing system to track problems and coordinate resolution with you through teams you can open a help desk ticket and provide us the details of what you're seeing we can respond through email and hopefully give you troubleshooting tips and work through that situation with you if we can't help you online that's okay when school starts will be happy to help you in person who's at Lexington Catholic can get help from the it office with technology issues what are two ways you can actually go to the it office or more preferably you can do something that we call open a help desk ticket a ticket is basically an email that gets sent to the help desk staff and we take a look at that and we'll answer back to you hopefully solving your problem via email there's a wait for you to open a help desk ticket through teams and I'm going to show you right now how to do that pop open my little notepad here Windows users you'll be using the edge browser Matthews you need to use Chrome you need to have your student email address you are a Microsoft 365 password we are going to be going to office.com but if you already had teams installed on your computer you could just open Team you wouldn't have to go to office.com I'm going to pop up and it's right here because I don't have it installed I want to sign in new password 67 I type it in all spot there okay and here I am on my Microsoft home page I'm going to go to the left-hand margin go down down down to teams click on that it really would like you to down that's a procedure that you will see in some of the videos right now I'm going to continue on with the web app and here we have the student it help desk to go into that and again we're going to go down to videos going to look at files that's where the videos are contained and right at the top of your open a help desk ticket if you click on that it's a simple enough instruction click on the link below to open a help desk ticket you simply hover over that link like it and here you have where you can enter your help desk ticket the first thing you're going to have to enter is your email address and in my case that's going to be due 2018 Lexington that's a lick. Calm now it must be a Lexington Catholic email address if you use any of your other personal email addresses here not going to work you're going to get a message back saying we don't reckon I see you are sorry please use and Lexington Catholic email address and its hype your name and here under help topics it's not real important that you get it again Zachary Wright but here's a list of things that kind of helped us know what sort of problem you're having I just have a general question let me see for the summary Wi-Fi question okay and down here in the details I'm going to stay how do I connect sorry to the student why buy and then I can go down here and at the bottom it says create ticket and I'm going not going to actually create that ticket but that's what you would quit to say the ticket in now also help to buy spell things correctly couple of points when you're opening a help desk ticket that you really need to keep in mind number one the only way we can help who is if we have good information saying something like my download didn't work or office isn't installing that really doesn't tell us anything you can say office isn't installing I'm getting this message and then type the message in here down at the bottom here you'll see drop files here or choosing our choose them if you can get a screen print of the area receiving that is very very helpful to give us some idea of what kind of problem you're having and we can take it pretty quickly with that information so before you hit create ticket look very carefully at your description and make sure that you have an error message in there you say what exactly it is you're trying to do and what were the steps leading up encountering your problem with that information were usually very good at getting back to you mind you our answer will come to you via email your Lexington Catholic email Matthew can't get your Lexington Catholic email that can be a problem and when you get back when you get to school in August will take care of you then at that point but for now if you need to open a help desk ticket you can do it through teams just this way if you've entered a Lexington Catholic help desk ticket the answers will come back to you via your Lexington Catholic email address if you haven't gotten around to setting up your Outlook account yet you can get to it through office.com go to www.office.com sign in and this is your Lexington Catholic email address I set up back at the beginning of the process of enrolling and I'm going to log into my dashboard okay over here on the far left if you go down down found out about the middle here you'll see an application called Outlook normally you would want this installed but we can use it just here for simply reading and sending email here you'll see from helpdesk support ticket opened I can click on it and it will tell me that a representative will be getting back with me soon so I know I've set up my support ticket when we respond to you it'll have a full copy of what you entered in for your ticket but for now it's just going to send you a number to say who's open to ticket for you
