The Father Norman Fischer Scholarship Fund
At Lexington Catholic High School, we are proud to honor the lasting legacy of Father Norman Fischer, our beloved Chaplain and Priest, through the creation of the Father Norman Fischer Scholarship Fund. In collaboration with the Fischer family, this fund seeks to continue Father Norman’s mission of providing opportunities for underserved students to experience the enriching education offered at Lexington Catholic.
Father Norman was deeply committed to creating a more diverse student body by ensuring that financial barriers did not prevent deserving students from attending Lexington Catholic. His love for the community, his joyful spirit, and his devotion to serving others remain an inspiration to all who knew him. The Father Norman Fischer Scholarship Fund reflects these values through three key areas of support, each designed to uplift and empower our students in unique ways.
Fischer Scholars: Making Education Accessible
The Fischer Scholars initiative is designed to offer financial support, making a Lexington Catholic education accessible to families who may need assistance. Through tuition assistance, donations, and grants, the Fischer Scholars fund ensures that deserving students have access to the outstanding academic and spiritual programs that define Lexington Catholic. Selected students will receive a Fischer Scholars certificate and contract, representing their inclusion in this special program.
Father Norman believed that education should be accessible to all, and this fund aims to uphold that belief. By supporting Fischer Scholars, you can help open the door for future generations to receive a Catholic education rooted in faith, knowledge, and service.
The Joyful Knight Award: Honoring a
Life of Joy and Kindness
In memory of Father Norman’s boundless joy and love for all people, the Joyful Knight Award celebrates a current Lexington Catholic student who embodies his spirit. Father Norman touched the lives of everyone he met with his kindness, humility, and unwavering love of God, and this scholarship honors a student who brings that same joy to our community.
The recipient of the Joyful Knight Award will be a fan of Lexington Catholic sports, an active participant in the arts, and someone who lives out our school’s Core Values in Mind, Spirit, and Body. Students in grades 9-11 are invited to submit an essay illustrating how they spread love and kindness, just as Father Norman did. This award serves as a tribute to Father Norman’s lasting impact on the lives he touched and will be awarded at the Spring Awards Ceremony.
The Father Norman Fischer Vocation Scholarship: Supporting Future Spiritual Leaders
Father Norman Fischer’s life was defined by his deep faith and commitment to serving God and others. The Father Norman Fischer Vocation Scholarship is dedicated to a graduating senior who is contemplating a religious vocation or a life of service. Nominated by the Spiritual Life Department, this student will have demonstrated a commitment to their faith, a passion for service, and a desire to lead a life dedicated to spiritual growth.
By supporting this scholarship, you are helping to foster the next generation of spiritual leaders who share Father Norman’s calling. His enduring legacy of faith will continue to live on in the lives of those who are inspired to pursue service and ministry. This award will also be presented at the Spring Awards Ceremony.
