Bio

Dr. Katherine Gartland is a distinguished educator with an extensive background in English literature and secondary education. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Worcester State University, a Master of Arts in English and a Doctorate in English from the University of Rhode Island, and a Master of Arts in Teaching Secondary English from Eastern Kentucky University. Additionally, Dr. Gartland has achieved Rank I Secondary Education status and is an ACT Certified Educator.

 

Dr. Gartland is a member of the Phi Kappa Phi honor society and has been recognized with a prestigious National Endowment for the Humanities grant, awarded to only 40 individuals nationwide. This grant enabled her to conduct specialized studies on the works of Zora Neale Hurston at Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida.

 

Dr. Gartland's passion for English literature is matched by her enthusiasm for teaching and mentoring students. Outside of her professional life, she enjoys reading, traveling, bike riding, and practicing yoga, which contribute to her well-rounded and dynamic approach to education.
