As part of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government plans to widen Clays Mill Road, Columbia Gas of Kentucky is required to relocate existing natural gas pipelines on and along Clays Mill Road.
This mandated relocation work will require digging and heavy equipment use and could result in temporary traffic restrictions or delays before, during and after school hours. Columbia Gas and its contractor, Stanley Pipeline, will primarily be on site from 7:30 am to 6:30 pm Monday through Friday.
Construction is expected to start on Monday, Feb. 18, beginning at Waco Road and progressing over the coming months toward Stratford Drive. A secured staging area, where supplies for the project will be stored, is located behind the parking lot of True Hope Church on Hill N’ Dale Road.
Motorists and pedestrians are encouraged to exercise caution, reduce speed and obey flaggers and posted signs in the construction zone.
