Bio
Adam Sovkoplas has a Doctorate in Music Composition from the University of Kentucky. He is an award-winning composer whose music has been performed on five continents. While at the University of Kentucky, Adam studied playwriting with playwright and screenwriter Herman Daniel Farrell III. Since arriving in Kentucky in 2006, Adam has acted with, built or designed sets for, or written shows for The REP Theatre, AthensWest, Studio Players, Bluegrass Community & Technical College, Tates Creek High School, Eastern Kentucky University Opera Workshop, Leeds Theatre, East Jessamine High School, Bluegrass Mystery Theatre, Woodford Theatre, Dunbar High School, Kentucky Conservatory Theatre, the Creative Art League Theater of Jessamine County, Shaker Village, and the School for the Creative and Performing Arts. He has also worked at the Ohio Renaissance Festival, as a squire at the Kentucky Renaissance Faire, and spent three years working as a mascot for the Lexington Legends Baseball Team. In 2018, Dr. Sovkoplas and his wife, Lindsey, founded Adventure Theatre, a professional theatre company producing shows throughout Central Kentucky. Mrs. Sovkoplas teaches theatre at Dunbar High School, and Dr. Sovkoplas is excited to join Lexington Catholic High School as their theatre teacher.
