Lexington Catholic High School opens its doors next week for orientation, induction, and the first day of classes, with a new morning schedule taking effect on day one.
- Returning students in grades ten through twelve begin the week Monday, August 10, with orientation from 8 to 11 a.m. Sophomores, juniors, and seniors should arrive on campus in uniform and enter through Entrance A, the main entrance. During the morning, students will be issued textbooks, have yearbook and ID photos taken, pick up parking passes, and organize their lockers. Information about senior parking passes was sent to families earlier this week.
- Tuesday, August 11, belongs to the newest members of the Knight family. The Class of 2030 Induction Ceremony and Orientation runs from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., with main entrance doors opening at 8 a.m. for students and guardians. Families will gather in the Bueter Gym for the induction ceremony. Students should wear their LC uniform but do not need to bring anything with them. A pizza lunch will be provided, though students are welcome to bring their own. Yearbook and ID photos will be taken during the day.
- Parents of incoming students are invited to the New Parent Meeting from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., where school leaders will cover a range of topics about Lexington Catholic and what to expect during a student's first year.
- New upperclassmen and transfer students also report Tuesday, from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Those students should check in at the Main Office in uniform. As with the Class of 2030, lunch will be provided and ID photos taken.
- Classes begin Wednesday, August 12. Students should report directly to their first period class in proper uniform by 8:05 a.m.
- Families should note a change to the daily schedule this year. The school day now begins at 8:05 a.m., with a five minute warning bell at 8 a.m., a shift made to accommodate a new student produced morning broadcast.
- Cafeteria doors open at 7:15 a.m. for early arrivals, and drop off takes place at the cafeteria doors, Entrance B, accessed through the main parking lot entrance. Students who arrive before 7:45 a.m. will wait in the cafeteria until dismissed by the teacher on duty. Families may also use side streets for drop off to ease congestion in the lot.
- Beginning at 7:45 a.m., students may enter through the Cafeteria, the Fine Arts and Bueter Gym door, or the High Marks door. After 8 a.m., all doors lock and students must enter through the main office at Entrance A.
