Dear Lexington Catholic High School Families,
I am pleased to share that Bishop John Stowe, OFM Conv., Bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Lexington, appointed Fr. Ben Horn as the next chaplain of Lexington Catholic High School, with additional sacramental ministry at Saint Patrick Catholic Church in Mount Sterling, KY. Fr. Horn began his chaplaincy, today, July 1, 2026. Fr. Horn will work closely with Ms. Rachel Scanlon, Director of Spiritual Life; Ms. Kathy Arms, Spiritual Life Associate; and Deacon John Brannen, Vice Chancellor of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Lexington. Together, they will continue to provide spiritual guidance to our students, faculty, staff, and the entire Lexington Catholic community. A Kentucky native, Fr. Horn was born and raised in Louisville, KY, before moving to Lexington, KY, to attend the University of Kentucky. After discerning a call to the priesthood, he entered college seminary following his sophomore year. He completed his bachelor’s degree in Catholic Philosophical Thought and returned to the Diocese of Lexington, serving as a youth minister in Frankfort, KY, and Georgetown, KY. He later spent time at the University of Virginia as a missionary with the Fellowship of Catholic University Students before resuming seminary studies, earning a Master of Divinity from St. Meinrad Seminary and School of Theology. Fr. Horn was ordained to the priesthood by Bishop Stowe on May 21, 2022. He began his ministry at Mary Queen of the Holy Rosary in Lexington, KY, and, in the summer of 2024, was assigned as Parochial Vicar at St. Mildred Catholic Church in Somerset, KY. We are grateful for Fr. Horn’s service to the Church and welcome him to the Lexington Catholic High School community.
In His Name,
Mr. Mathew George, Ed.S.
