The Lexington Catholic High School IT Hardware Technician must demonstrate a strong knowledge of computers and how they operate, including a broad understanding of hardware, software, and operating systems. Incumbent must be able to diagnose computer problems, install software, and set up a variety of equipment. The position also requires familiarity with audio and visual equipment, printers, cameras, and phones.

The IT Hardware Technician’s duties include but are not limited to:
• Provide IT Helpdesk support for students, faculty, staff, and administrators.
• Install and manage classroom audio/video and security cameras.
• Install, configure, manage, and coordinate problem resolution for the LCHS phone system
• Install wifi and network switching equipment as well as UPS supplies.
• Manage the wiring closets and server room.
• Install and manage low voltage wiring as needed to support the LCHS IP network
• Terminate to standards all IP network cables
• Perform minor repairs to equipment.
• Order, manage, and track school technology equipment.
• Write/manage departmental documentation for hardware deployments.
• Assist Facilities department support the Athletic department scoreboards, sound systems, etc.
• Assist Facilities department with support of Public Address and Bell/Clock systems.
• Performing other duties as assigned by the network administrator.

The IT Technician position is performed on-site. The physical requirements of this position include
• Occasionally lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects up to 75lbs
• Occasionally standing or walking with objects up to 30lbs
• Regularly working at a computer workstation for extended periods of time with regular repetitive motions (such as typing)
• Being physically fit, able to walk, kneel, go up/downstairs and crouch for extended periods of time.
• Regularly using 15 foot ladders and lifts up to 2 stories.
• Utilizing mouse, keyboard, computer screen and phone for major portions of the day
• Ability to arrive to and leave from work within the specified hours (no flex)
• Must have a valid driver’s license.

Occasional evening/weekend hours may be required.

• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office 365 products.
• Associate degree in electrical or computer field preferred (or equivalent work experience)
• Certified Network Cable Installer (CNCI) current certificate
• Knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office 365 and the associated Office products..
• Good oral and written communication skills with emphasis on producing electrical/hardware documentation and associated diagrams.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Able to work without direct supervision.
• Flexible workflow management style and ability to easily prioritize projects/requests.
