Head Coach-Jeff Kaufmann
Jeff Kaufmann is a 1994 graduate of Winona State University, in Winona, MN
where he earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics. There he helped
found the men’s volleyball club in 1989 playing for three years on the varsity club
team as an outside hitter. His volleyball coaching career began in 1995, as the head
freshman coach for Woodstock High School, in Woodstock, IL. He spent the next
four seasons as the sophomore and JV coach until he took over as the head varsity
coach in 2000. Over eight seasons he led the team to winning a 3A regional
championship in 2006, and amassing a 168-120 overall record.

Coach Kaufmann went on to coach at St. Mary School in Woodstock for seven seasons and at Sky High
Volleyball Club, in Crystal Lake, IL, where he coached for nine seasons. During that time, three of his teams
qualified for, and competed in, the USA Volleyball National Tournament. In 2014, he joined the staff at Marian
Central Catholic HS, in Woodstock, as an assistant coach. During those three seasons, the varsity team won the
class 3A 2015 state championship and finished as the class 3A runner-up in 2016.

In the summer of 2020, Coach Kaufmann and his family moved to Lexington where he joined the staff at
Lexington United Volleyball (LUV) as a club coach and also served as a volunteer assistant coach at Lexington
Catholic for this past 2021 KY Class 2A State Championship season. He and his wife Tara have five children,
Alexandra (24), Isaac (22), Jordan (21), Matthew (19) and Hannah (16), and are members of the Mary Queen of
the Holy Rosary parish. Matthew is a 2021 Lexington Catholic graduate and Hannah is currently a sophomore.
