Coach Wiesenhahn shouts SufferAndBeStrong whenever he can.
It's a silly phrase really, but it sums up what 5K cross country racing is all about. There is no secret to success. Suffering makes runners strong.
That said, most runners, coaches and alumni of LCXC will surely tell you that running cross country at Lexington Catholic seldom brings only suffering. It's really a lot of fun. Hopefully that is evident in the photos above. Most are from the 2015 and 2016 seasons.
LC's 2016 season may go down as the most successful in school history. The boys' team won its first State Championship. The girls' team finished third at State for the second-straight year. Senior Michaela Reinhart won her second-straight State Championship. Twenty-eight boys and 28 girls ran cross country for Lexington Catholic. Most of them ran personal bests this season. One runner set a school record, even though she's no longer the fastest runner in her family.
In addition, more than 100 schools competed in the 39th Lexington Catholic Invitational. Girls' coach Bernadette Madigan-Dugan was inducted into the University of Kentucky Athletics Hall of Fame. Head coach Tim Wiesenhahn was named KTCCCA 2A Coach of the Year.Welcome to our website. Enjoy. We hope you see our success and our joy, and join us.
