Coach Emery Emmert was named head softball coach at Lexington Catholic High School in 2017 and is in his 5th year as head coach of the Knights. In 2021 Coach Emmert was named District 43 Coach of the Year, Region 11 Coach of the Year, and propelled the LCHS Coaching Staff to being named 2A State Coaching Staff of the Year after leading the program to a historic season. He began his softball coaching career at Bluegrass Girls Fastpitch where he coached all age divisions in the recreational league and served on the board. He has coached numerous travel ball teams of all ages, and was the Lexington Catholic Middle School softball coach for 3 years before becoming the varsity coach. He is a member of the National Fastpitch Coaches Association as well as the Kentucky Softball Coaches Association. Coach Emmert and his wife Denise have two daughters: Ella, a freshman at The University of Kentucky who plays softball for the Wildcats, and Ava, a sophomore at Lexington Catholic High School who plays softball for the Knights.
