National Honor Society
When the National Honor Society was founded in 1921, the hope was to create an organization that would recognize and encourage academic achievement while developing other characteristics essential to citizens in a democracy. The ideals of scholarship, character, service and leadership remain as relevant today as they did in 1921. The Lexington Catholic Chapter recognizes these ideals and strives to embody them in its practices.
Juniors and seniors are eligible for membership if they have maintained a minimum cumulative grade point average (weighted) as well as completed at least 30 service hours. Students must also be in good standing regarding both Lexington Catholic’s Honor Code and Code of Conduct. Once invited to apply, students must complete an application form and essay.

A minimum of 60 hours must be completed (or less based on enrollment after freshman year) before graduation for the student to receive their honor regalia at graduation. Students must also maintain good standing with both the Honor Code and the Code of Conduct to receive honor regalia at graduation.
