ACT English Prep Courses
with LCHS English Teacher Meredith Mullins
It is advised that you take
ACT Session I before you take
ACT Session II.
ACT English Prep | Session I
This three-hour course begins with general ACT test-taking tips and strategies as well getting the student comfortable with the layout of the exam. Then, tips and strategies specific to the English portion of the exam will be covered. In addition, the course breaks questions down into categories to help familiarize the students with what exactly they are being asked to do. The majority of the class focuses on all of the English-content that they may be tested on including grammar, sentence structure, style, and rhetorical skills. Students will be taught these skills as well as given a practice test with answer/scoring key and take-home materials to study.
ACT English Prep | Session II
Session II is two hours long and will begin with a timed official English Practice test. After this, students’ tests will be scored and all 75 questions will be individually discussed. Students will be taught how to identify the category or type of question and begin to apply the various skills taught in session 1. Answer choices will be analyzed as well as the correct answers identified and explanation for each correct answer will be given. Students will be directly applying the strategies, tips, and content they learned from Session 1, so they are better equipped to do this alone on their eventual test day.
$80 for 2-hour-long Session II.
Each ACT Class Features:
