The boys’ tournament has run since the 1960's. Former LCHS Coach, Danny Haney, is responsible for the modern version of the tournament that began in 1996. The tournament typically has anywhere from 16-24 teams each year; this year there are 16.
Three Lexington schools headline the 2018 Traditional Bank Holiday Tournament. Host, Lexington Catholic, along with Frederick Douglas and Bryan Station will be the Lexington schools in the field. Over half the field is favored to win their respective region and many players have signed to play college basketball. This year will also feature out-of-state teams from Deltona Florida HS, Webb School from TN and Landstown HS from VA.
