Cash Gift
Your gift of cash in the form of a check provides immediate tax savings for you and instant revenue for the High School. This is the most common way donors support Lexington Catholic High School.

Credit Card Gift (Visa, Master Card)
Call the development office at (859) 277-7183 ext 253 to make a donation via your credit card. This type of donation can be made anytime and is a good way to donate monthly.

Bank Draft
You may wish to have an amount withdrawn from your bank account monthly. This is an excellent way to donate without having the hassle of writing a monthly check.

Charitable Gift Annuity
You make an irrevocable gift of cash or securities in the name of Lexington Catholic to the Diocese, and the Diocese agrees to pay you a guaranteed percentage of the asset annually for life. A gift annuity can also have more than one income beneficiary. The rate of return on a gift annuity is determined by the donor's age.

Charitable Remainder Trust
You contribute assets, such as securities, while retaining the income for yourself, or others, for life. A remainder gift permits you to take an income tax deduction for a portion of the value of your gift. Your gift will be credited for the fair market value of the contributed assets.

Corporate Matching Funds
Many companies offer matching funds to their employees who make gifts to qualified 501C organizations. This can allow donors to multiply their gift and provide further support to the school. Contact your human resource department to learn about your company's matching program.

Gifts by Will (Bequest)
This is the most common form of planned giving. A gift is given to the High School by provisions made in the donor's will designating a dollar amount or percentage of the estate. Bequests to Lexington Catholic High School are free from federal estate tax and the estate and inheritance taxes of most states. Bequests should be drawn and executed with an attorney's advice.

Life Insurance/Retirement Fund
You may assign Lexington Catholic High School as beneficiary, co-beneficiary or a secondary, remainder of residual beneficiary of your life insurance policy or retirement fund. Annual Life insurance dividends also may be assigned to the school. When Lexington Catholic is named as owner of a policy, the cash value of the policy may be deducted on your income tax return.

Property Donation
Gifts of property are carefully considered and, if acceptable, will be receipted at value after an appraisal is conducted.

Securities Donation
Donating securities directly to the school instead of contributing the proceeds of a stock sale significantly increases your tax deduction and the amount of income the school receives. The value of the gift, for tax purposes, is recorded as the average market value on the date of delivery. If transferred through a broker, the gift's value is determined by the date of transfer as recorded.

Call for specific directions if you have questions on any of these transactions.
