Tuition Assistance

Process for applying for tuition assistance at Lexington Catholic

Awarding of tuition assistance is only made upon application by parents. No aid is awarded without successful processing of confidential information.

Register and pay $175, per student, registration fee.  This is to be completed in the spring prior to the upcoming school year. Fill out a "Financial Aid Application" and mail along with a $25 processing fee directly to the Financial Aid Independent Review (FAIR). The financial aid application form requires information on income, debt, assets, and other relevant information. FAIR also requires a copy of the parents' Federal Income Tax Return and all W-2 and/or 1099 forms.

Parents may apply online.  The web address is www.fairapp.com.  The school code is 260 and the password is lacs260.  The code and password are the same for the following schools: Christ the King, Mary Queen of the Holy Rosary and Seton Catholic School.  Parents may apply on one application for students in the Lexington area Catholic Schools listed.

FAIR will confidentially evaluate each applicant's form and assign a suggested grant-in-aid, based on that family's need and the amount of money the school has set aside for tuition assistance.

After the filing deadline on April 10, 2008, FAIR sends a report to the school listing all applicants and suggests grant amounts for each student. Students and their families are identified only by an assigned number. All decisions are reached in anonymity.

No criteria other than the financial information provided by FAIR are considered in the decision to grant aid. Therefore, all aid is awarded purely on the basis of need without respect to student's grades, participation in school sports or activities, or any other judgment.

Applicants will be notified by mail indicating the amount of tuition assistance in June 2008.

Parents must apply to be considered for assistance.

A registration packet containing the Registration form and Financial Aid application is mailed to each incoming freshman who takes the placement test.  These forms are also mailed to the parents of all current students, (9th-11th grade) in February each year.  Parents can request a registration packet by calling the Admissions Office at (859) 277-7183 ext 231.  Parents with questions concerning tuition assistance can call the Business Office at (859) 277-7183 ext. 237.
