Bill Alverson
Bill and his wife, Diane, live in Paris, Kentucky, where Bill was born and raised. Bill has worked in the banking business since 1983 and currently serves as the Senior V.P. of Traditional Bank. This is his fifth year on the Lexington Catholic Board of Trustees and he serves on the Advancement Committee, but has worked for many years in the community with such organizations as R.E.A.C.H., Inc., The Lexington Hearing and Speech Center, and Kids Voting Ky Inc. Bill and Diane have two sons: Hamilton, a senior at Transylvania University and Lloyd, a current junior at LCHS. Joe BeavinJoe is starting his ninth year on the Lexington Catholic Board of Trustees. In addition to Lexington Catholic, he has been active with his parish, Mary Queen of the Holy Rosary, and local youth sports programs. Joe is a partner in the law firm of Stoll Keenon Ogden PLLC, and a member of numerous professional organizations, including the Fayette County Bar Association, and is a past president of the Lexington Employee Benefits Council. He and his wife, Margo, have two children: Matt, a 2003 graduate, and Angie, a 2005 graduate.
Boyd Browning
Boyd is the executive vice president and chief operating officer of Fasig Tipton Company, Inc., the oldest thoroughbred auction company in North America. He is beginning his fourth year on the Board of Trustees and is the chair of the Advancement Committee. Boyd is also involved as a board member of The Race for Education & Blue Horse Charities. He and his wife, Tracy, have four daughters: Brittany, a 2004 graduate of LCHS; Megan, a 2006 graduate; Paige, a junior at LCHS and Bailey, a student at Christ the King.
Linda is serving her first year on the Lexington Catholic Board. She is an active member of St. Paul Parish and continues to serve on the board of Sts. Peter and Paul School. Linda is the Vice-president of Morgan Worldwide Consultants, Inc. a small engineering company serving the minerals industry worldwide. Linda is the mother of two Lexington Catholic graduates, Patrick Morgan, a junior at Catholic University of America and Simon Morgan, a freshman at University of Loyola, Chicago. Linda played an active role with the faculty in the performing arts departments at LCHS and continues to support the development of those programs. Linda also serves as Vice Chair for the LFUCG Historic Preservation Commission. Linda and her husband John Morgan have enjoyed living in downtown Lexington for the past 25 years.
James F. Conneely, Ph.D James Conneely is currently the Vice President for Student Affairs at Eastern Kentucky University. In addition to Dr. Conneely’s administrative experience, he also holds an appointment as an Associate Professor in Higher Education at Eastern Kentucky University. He has had the honor to serve his colleagues in various positions through the Southern Association for College Student Affairs, the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators, and the Association of College and University Housing Officers-International. Degrees: B.A. - St. Bonaventure University, M.S. in Ed. - Alfred University, Ph.D. - Georgia State University, Certificate -Management Development Program, Harvard University. This is his third year on the Board where he serves as Chairman of the School Life Committee.
Roger Cowden Roger is a life-long resident of Lexington where he works as an attorney for Eastern Kentucky Power Company. He begins his eighth year on the Lexington Catholic Board of Trustees, serving as a member of the Advancement Committee. Roger is also involved in the Lexington community through his efforts with the Living Arts and Science Center, the Lexington Arts and Cultural Council, the Kidney Foundation, and the Headley-Whitney Museum. He and his wife, Barbara, have two children: Courtney, a 2007 Lexington Catholic graduate, and son, Clark, a sophomore at Lexington Catholic.
John Cox and his wife Ann, have three children: John ('06), Collin ('09), and Abby, a 6th grader at Christ the King. John owns and runs Thorough-Graphic Signs, Inc., a specialty sign company in Lexington. John is also the Chair of the Communications Committee.
Sandy Devers Sandy is an alum of Lexington Catholic having graduated in 1968. She and her husband, Marvin, have four children, and all have graduated from Lexington Catholic: Brandon (2001), Lindsay (2002), Marvin (2004) and Ashley (2005). Sandy has lived in Lexington for 45 years. She is the past chairperson for LFUCG for United Way Domestic Violence Committee, as well as past chairperson for the United Way Police (1983-2000). Currently, she is a YWCA Board member, Domestic Violence Crime Prevention Board Chairman, Bishop Gainer’s Diocesan Review Board Chairman, Chairperson for United Way’s Division of Police and Chairperson for the Spouse Abuse Shelter Board. Her skills and interests include: criminal law, policing, fiscal management, cooking and decorating.
Bob HewettBob has been a member of the Lexington Catholic Board of Trustees since 1994 and is a 1965 graduate of LCHS and also serves as a member of the Finance Committee. Currently Bob is the Senior Vice President of Business Development for Fifth Third Bank, where he began work after a thirty-five year career at Kentucky Utilities. He served as president of KU from 1998-2000. Bob has been involved at the board level in numerous civic efforts including: the St. Joseph Hospital Board Chair, the Strategic Planning Committee Association of Independent Kentucky Colleges & Universities, Commerce Lexington, Bluegrass Tomorrow, Lexington Industrial Foundation, Lexington Strides Ahead, Lexington Area Sports Authority, REACH Inc., and the United Way of the Bluegrass. Bob and his wife, Donna, have two children, Heather and Brad, both graduates of Lexington Catholic, and two grandchildren. Bob is a member of Mary Queen of the Holy Rosary parish.
John Hinkel and his wife, Monica (Bryant) Hinkel are both 1973 Lexington Catholic graduates. They have four children: Lindsey, Ellen, Tyler and Thomas. Lindsey, Ellen and Tyler have all graduated from Lexington Catholic and Thomas is currently a junior at LCHS. The Hinkels are members of Christ the King Cathedral. John has practiced law in Lexington since 1980 with the firm of Fowler Measle & Bell, PLLC, where he is a member. At Lexington Catholic he stays very involved as a member of the Alumni Council. And he and Monica were Chairpersons for the 2006 Gridiron Classic, past Co-Presidents of the LCHS Football Booster Club, and John spoke at the 2006 Career Day. He also sits on the Drug and Alcohol Committee, and he is currently a Class Captain for the Class of 1973. John is also very involved in the Lexington Community: Member of Parish Council for Christ the King Cathedral for two separate terms, President of the Kiwanis Club of the Bluegrass, and a Member of Site Based Committee for Morton Middle School.
Steve Hupman A 28-year long Lexington resident, Steve is the President/Owner of APEX Realty, a multi-service, commercial real estate company. This is his sixth year on the Board of Trustees and he serves as Vice-chairman of the Facilities Committee. He has also been actively involved with his parish, Mary Queen of the Holy Rosary, Central Kentucky YMCA, and with Junior Achievement. He and his wife, Debra, have three children: daughter, Ashton, a 2007 LCHS graduate, son, Benton, is a sophomore at LCHS, and daughter, Merrick, is in school at Mary Queen.
Martha JonesMartha is a 1973 graduate of Lexington Catholic High School, a lifelong resident of Lexington and a member of Mary Queen of the Holy Rosary parish. Martha is a partner/shareholder in the CPA firm of Dean, Dorton and Ford. She has been involved in community-wide efforts through her work with such organizations as the United Way of the Bluegrass and the Kidney Foundation. Martha served as Chairperson of the Lexington Catholic Board for the 2005-2007 school years and has been on the board since 2000.
Brian McCarty '87 Brian (’87) is beginning his eighth year on the Lexington Catholic Board of Trustees. He and his wife, Katherine Veal McCarty (’88), are both alums of LCHS. They have three daughters. Mary Katherine is in 5th grade at The Lexington School and Sarah Jane is in 3rd grade at Christ the King. Their youngest, Martha Lee, is four years old. Brian is the owner/operator of restaurants in and around Lexington including Malone’s and Sal’s. He and his family are members of Christ the King parish.
Stephanie was appointed to the Lexington Catholic Board of Trustees in 2002 and is serving as Chairperson for 2007-2008. She is employed by Fifth Third Securities as a Private Client Advisor providing investment and wealth planning services. Stephanie and her husband Joe are active members of St. Paul Parish. They have two sons, Joseph H. Nallia III ’03, who is a Lance Corporal in the United States Marine Corps and Miles Harris Nallia, a senior at Lexington Catholic High School. Stephanie is a Rotarian, graduate of Leadership Lexington, serves on the Bluegrass Rape Crisis Center board, is a member of the Diocesan Strategic Planning committee and served on the Diocesan Finance Council for many years.
Kathy, who begins her eighth year on the Lexington Catholic Board of Trustees, has a history of being involved in the Lexington community, most visibly in her current position as the President of United Way of the Bluegrass. Kathy has served as president of the Lexington Ad Club, Children’s Miracle Network, Junior-League Vice President, and has served on the Christ the King parish council. She currently serves on the following Boards: Better Business Bureau, Knight Community Advisory Council, Martin School, Partners for Youth, and the Community Action Council. Kathy and her husband, John, have two sons: Kyle is a 2005 Lexington Catholic graduate and son, Sam, is a senior at LCHS. Kathy sits on the Communications Committee.
Linda Rumpke Linda has served on the Lexington Catholic Board of Trustees since 2000 and presently serves as Chairperson of the Technology Committee. She has enjoyed a 19-year career at JP Morgan which has included many leadership roles. Linda currently holds the position of Executive Vice President and Managing Director for Private Client Services in Lexington.
Community involvement is a priority for Linda. She has led grass roots initiatives in the areas of affordable housing and emerging small businesses. In addition to her service at Lexington Catholic, she is active on the boards of Good Samaritan Foundation, United Way of the Bluegrass and St. Joseph Hospital Foundation. Linda has also participated in numerous leadership programs including Leadership Kentucky and Leadership Louisville as well as leadership programs at Darden and JP Morgan.
The Lexington Catholic connection goes beyond Linda’s involvement. Her husband, Rob is a coach for the freshman football team. Their son, Michael, is a 2004 alum and former baseball standout for the Knights. Six year old Marc, is a familiar fixture at LC events and is infamous for his cheer of “Go Big Catholic!”
Bud SchneiderBud is a native Lexingtonian, and has worked as a builder in the area for over thirty years. He has been a member of the Board of Trustees for six years, he has served on the Building and Grounds Committee since 1994 and has served as Chairperson of this committee for the last six years, overseeing the construction of the new fine arts wing (including a 440-seat theater) the 1800-seat athletic center (The Robert J. Beuter Gymnasium), the Joseph K. Ford stadium, and the library. Bud also served as Chair of the Building and Grounds Committee at Christ the King during the construction of Hehman Hall and the gymnasium. Bud and his wife, Pam, the Alumni Director for Lexington Catholic, have two sons, Buddy and Bo, both of whom have graduated from Lexington Catholic, and a daughter, Blair, a junior at LCHS.
Nick is a native of Lexington, a graduate of Lexington Catholic High School (1972), and the University of Kentucky (1977) with a degree in Business Administration. He and his wife, Lynda, have two sons who graduated from Lexington Catholic, David (2003) and Patrick (2006). Nick and his family are members of Mary Queen of the Holy Rosary parish. He is beginning his first year on the board, and has served on the Facilities Committee for two years. He is currently Senior Vice President for The Webb Companies. He began his career in real estate with The Webb Companies in 1983, and earned the Certified Property Manager designation from the Institute of Real Estate Management. He has served the Institute as the local chapter president, was a Regional Vice President for Ohio, Michigan, Indiana and Kentucky from 2003-2004, and is currently Vice Chair of IREM’s Ethics & Discipline Committee. Prior to joining The Webb Companies, Nick worked in the hospitality industry with Hyatt Hotels and Radisson. In late 1996, he was appointed as Facilities General Manager for the Kentucky Administrative Office of the Courts where he also served on the Capital Planning Advisory Board reviewing capital project requests from all State agencies. Nick rejoined The Webb Companies in 2000 and oversees a real estate portfolio comprising nearly one million square feet of office space and parking facilities.
David is starting his fourth year as a member of the Lexington Catholic Board of Trustees and serves as the Chairperson of the Athletic Oversight Committee. David and his wife, Jennifer, were born and raised in Louisiana and have lived in Lexington with their son, Jordan, since 1990. David is General Counsel for East Kentucky Power Cooperative. Jennifer is also an attorney and a partner with Greenebaum, Doll & McDonald, PLLC. Jordan will graduate from Lexington Catholic in 2008. The Smarts are members of Christ the King Parish.
Cindy and her husband, Steve '77, are the owners and operators of Hunterton Farm and Hunterton Sales Agency in Paris. Cindy, who currently serves as Vice-chairperson of the Communications Committee, has served on the Lexington Catholic board for nine years and served as chairperson of Lexington Catholic’s annual Mid-Knight Stakes Dinner Auction for four years, raising nearly half a million dollars for the school. Outside of the Lexington Catholic community, Cindy has been actively involved on the Board of Directors of Equestrian Events Incorp., and has chaired the Trade Fair for the Rolex Kentucky 3-Day Event. Cindy and Steve have two children: daughter, Elizabeth, Class of 2003, and son, Taylor, a senior at Lexington Catholic.
Ben M Streepey is currently a Vice President and General manager at Lexmark International. He is beginning his second year on the Lexington Catholic Board of Trustees and Finance committee and has previously participated in the Advancement Committee. He is a product of Catholic education and is a graduate of Our Lady of Lourdes and Trinity High School in Louisville. He has resided in Lexington the last 27 years and is an active member of Christ the King, where he served as a co-chair of the Oktoberfest Raffle, and along with his wife Judi chaired the United in Faith campaign at Christ the King to build Seton Catholic School. He has served on the Board of Directors of Robinson Nugent and is currently on the boards of Saint Joseph HealthCare, the University of Kentucky and the University of Louisville Engineering School boards. Ben and Judi have two children, Sarah a sophomore at LCHS and Benjamin a 7th grader at Christ the King.
Mark Taylor '87
Mark is a 1987 graduate of Lexington Catholic. He subsequently graduated from Clemson University with a B. A. in English. Mark currently is co-owner of Taylor Made Farm in Nicholasville, Kentucky with his brothers Duncan, Ben and Frank who are also Lexington Catholic alumni. Mark and his wife Julia have two children, Walker (born 2000) and Josh (born 2003).
Ann is the faculty representative on the Board of Trustees this year. She was voted onto the Board by the LCHS faculty at the beginning of the school year. She serves as a voice for the teacher and the campus community. Ann sits on the School Life Committee and the Athletic Oversight Committee.
Ron is beginning his seventh year on the Lexington Catholic Board of Trustees. He serves as Vice-chairperson of the Technology committee. Ron and his wife, Pat, have been active at both St. Elizabeth Ann Seton (where they are parishioners) and at Christ the King, where their children attended school. Ron is also a member of the Kentucky and Fayette County Bar Associations. He has worked with local youth sports programs and serves on several boards including Bluegrass Tomorrow, First State Financial Bank, and the Unified Financial Family of Mutual Funds. Ron is the CEO/Senior Legal Council for the Webb Companies and General Counsel and Director of Traxx Companies. He and Pat have two children: Eric, a 2002 graduate, and Megan, a 2005 graduate of Lexington Catholic.
