|
LC defeated Hamilton Southeastern (IN) 13 – 8 in the varsity
game. Lane Pumphrey and Kyle Hill each scored 4
goals, Hunt Cunningham and Sam Woomer 2 goals, and John Michael Riegger 1 goal. Will Berge was the
winning goalie. LC JV defeated Hamilton JV 5 – 3. Hamilton led at the half 3 –
1. Our JV players scored 4 second half goals and Brian Bodziony
pitched a second half shutout! |

The varsity team defeated Anderson HS by the
score of 16 – 11. The team was lead by senior midfielder Lane Pumphrey. Lane had 6 goals, 4 assists and 9 ground balls.
Ryan Bennet had 4 goals, Shannon Layton and John Michael
Riegger contributed 2 goals each, Nick Christman
and Chris Howell each scored one goal. Sam Woomer
did a great job of quarterbacking the offense by controlling the ball and
dishing out 4 assists. Chris Howell and Nick Christman
continue to control the face-offs for the Knights. The Lexington Catholic JV was able to come back
from a 3 goal deficit to defeat Anderson HS JV team in overtime 7 – 6. Thomas
Baker scored the winning goal. Evan Murphy 2 goals, Luke Fish 1 goal, Taylor
Booth 1 goal, David McCulloch 1 goal and Conner Ferguson 2 assists. |

LC Varsity defeated Dunbar 9 – 5 in a very
competitive game. LC had a narrow 5 – 4 halftime lead, but was able to
control the second half. Lane Pumphrey scored 4
goals. Sam Woomer had 2 goals and 3 assists. Ryan
Bennett, John Michael Riegger and Clark Cowden rounded out the scoring. Will
Berge had an outstanding second half turning back numerous point blank shots. Unfortunately, the JV team lost 2 – 3. |

LC varsity dropped a close game to Trinity 8 – 7.
LC had a couple of good scoring opportunities in the last minute and a half
but couldn’t put in the tying goal. Sam Woomer,
Nick Heuer and Lane Pumphrey
each scored 2 goals. Ryan Bennett chipped in with one goal. This was a good
high school lacrosse game. Our JV team lost a thriller to Trinity JV 3 – 2
in triple overtime. Conner Ferguson tied the game on a beautiful feed from
Conner Yorkey. Both teams played solid team
defense. |

Unfortunately,
the LC varsity lacrosse team fell to St. X Tigers by the score of 16 – 7. The
team fought hard and played to the final whistle, but came up short. Lane Pumphrey lead the team with 3 goals, Nick Heuer scored 2 goals, Ryan Bennett had 1 goal and Sam Woomer contributed 1 goal and 3 assists. Both Will Berge
and Brian Bodziony played in the nets for the
Knights. JV lacrosse
team fell to the Tigers JV by the score of 8 – 2. Danny Butler and Jake Pumphrey scored for the Knights. |

The lacrosse team traveled to Louisville Friday
to play division foe Eastern HS. The varsity team defeated Eastern 13 – 4. Attackman Ryan Bennett led the Knights with 4 goals.
Midfielders John Michael Riegger, Clark Creasey and
Chris Howell each chipped in with 2 goals. Lane Pumphrey,
Luke Fish and Clark Cowden each scored 1 goal. Brian Bodziony
was outstanding in the net. The JV team won 10 – 0. David McCullough, Conner
Ferguson, Pat Dahlstrom, Jake Pumphrey,
Luke Fish and Taylor Booth did a great job of controlling the field and
providing the scoring. The defense of Michael Hurak, Ryan Melody, Matt Burke
and Luke Patrick protected goalie Brian Bodziony
and didn’t allow the Eastern Eagles many good looks at the LC goal. |

SENIOR
NIGHT LC varsity defeated Ballard HS 10 – 6. Sam Woomer lead the team with 6
points (3 goals and 3 assists). Also scoring for the Knights were Ryan
Bennett 2 goals, Shannon Layton, Lane Pumphrey,
John Michael Riegger, Hunt Cunningham and Kyle Hill. Will Berge was the
winning goalie. The LC JV team beat Ballard’s JV team 3 – 1. Jake
Pumphrey, Anthony Davies, and Pat Dahlstrom provided the scoring. Goalie Brian Bodziony and his defensive mates- Ryan Melody, Matt Burke
and Michael Hurak shut down the Bruin offense. |
