Friday, February 15th score:

LCHS  4    St. X  2

The Knights ran their unbeaten streak to 9 games in league play with the win on the road.  Lexington Catholic now controls their own destiny in the battle for first place in the KHSHL.  The Knights improved their record to 11-2-1 in league play and have 2 remaining games on their schedule.  The Knights will host Trinity on February 20th and play at Henry Clay on the 28thTwo wins would give the Knights sole possession of first place heading into the playoffs.

 

Thursday, February 7th score:

LCHS  10 Fern Creek  0

Lexington Catholic remained on their  unbeaten streak as they defeated Fern Creek on Senior Night.  The Knights have not lost in their last 8 league games and have never lost on their Senior Night.  The win kept LC battling for the top spot in the league.

 

Thursday, January 24th score:

LCHS  3  Henry Clay  2

Lexington Catholic continued their unbeaten streak as they downed Henry Clay 3-2.  LCHS jumped out to a 2-0 lead and saw the Blue Devils storm back to tie the game in the 3rd period.  Casey Messner scored the game winning goal with only 1:39 left in regulation.  The Knights won the faceoff and Messner took his shot from the blueline and found the back of the net for the victory.

 

Friday January 18th score:

LCHS  4  Trinity  4

 In one of the most exciting games of the season the Knights and Shamrocks renewed a rivalry from last years State Championship Final.  Lexington Catholic tied the game with only 39 seconds left after they had pulled goalie Alex Mesmer in favor of the extra attacker.  The Knights' Justin Bonanno brought the puck into the Shamrocks zone, backhanded a pass to Michael Champa, who promptly deposited the puck in the net for the tying goal.  The Knights will face Henry Clay in their next game, Thursday evening at the Ice Center.

 

Saturday January 12th score:

LCHS  11  Owensboro  2

 Lexington Catholic showed no signs of fatigue after a long bus ride as they netted their first goal just 13 seconds into the contest.  The Knights jumped out to a 6-1 lead and cruised to win 11-1.  The win improved Lexington Catholic to 8-2 in conference play and set up a showdown with the Trinity Shamrocks set up for Friday, January 18th in Louisville.  It will be the first meeting of the year between the two teams that faced each other in the State Championship Final last season.

 

Thursday January 10th score:

 LCHS 6  Lafayette 5

Lexington Catholic jumped out to a 5-1 lead over their city rivals and then had to hold off a furious Generals comeback to preserve a 6-5 victory.  The win improved the Knights to 7-2 in conference play.

                                                                                               

Saturday January 5th score:

Cincinnati ST. X  3 LCHS   0

 The Knights concluded their road trip in beautiful Goggin Arena on the campus of Miami University.  LCHS dropped a 3-0 game to St. Xavier, ranked in the top 20 of Ohio High School Hockey.  The Knights are off until Thursday night when they return to conference play hosting the Lafayette Generals.

 

Friday January 4th score:

Beavercreek 4 LCHS  1

 The Knights embarked on one of their toughest road trips of the year with a Friday game scheduled for 9:40pm in Kettering, Ohio against Beavercreek High School.  After being stuck on the freeway for over an hour due to a traffic jam caused by an accident, the game finally faced-off just after 10pm.  Despite outshooting the host team, Lexington Catholic dropped a spirited game 4-1.  LCHS will play Cincinnati's St. Xavier Saturday night in Oxford, Ohio.

 

Thursday January 3rd score:

LCHS  10 Eastern HS  0

The Knights used a stingy defense and showed offensive firepower as they improved to 6-2 in league play.  The Knights cruised to a 10-0 win allowing just 1 shot on goal.  Goalies made a big splash for the Knights.  Junior Clark Creasey, normally in goal for the team, played as a forward and picked up his first career goal.  Alex Mesmer improved to 2-0 between the pipes since returning from the football team and Samantha Woods played her second consecutive scoreless period.
