The Lexington Catholic Middle School Cheerleader program began in the spring of 2005 and has tripled in size in 3 years!  This team is open to all cheerleaders in the surrounding LCHS feeder schools.  Tryouts are held in May of each season and the season ends in March.  The team cheers for LC Middle School Football, Girl’s Basketball and Boy’s Basketball.  This team competes once each season.  For more information about the team, please contact coach Leslie Hinkle at lhinkle@pepclubcolts.com.

Tryout Clinics:  May 12th 5:30-6:30 and May 13th 5:30-6:30 LCHS Alumni Gym

Tryouts:  May 15th 5:30 at LCHS Alumni Gym, These events are closed to family and friends.

 

Things you need to turn in to participate:  Personal Information Sheet, Two Teacher/Coach Recommendation Sheets and $35 payment to LCHS for the yearly Athletic Insurance Fee.  You will receive a copy of the Team Rules on the first day of clinics.  These rules must be read by both the athlete and the parents before trying out for the team.

 

Team Requirements:  a cheer and side line will be taught at clinics, a toe touch, pike jump and hurdler jump, and 2 tumbling passes of your choice will also be required.  We will cheer for home 8th grade football, 8th grade girls basketball and 8th grade boys basketball.  If there are enough participants, we will split the team into two and also cheer for 7th grade girls and boys basketball.

 

Summer Camp:

$240 per cheerleader due May 19th

 

Mandatory Parent Meeting:  Monday May 19th 6:00pn LCHS Cafeteria

 

Practices will be held two times each week throughout the entire season with one being a tumbling class, all practices and tumbling will be held at the Omni Center.

 

Competitions:  traditionally we have competed once each season at the WinterJam held at the Lexington Center.  The event is Saturday December 13th.

 

Financial Responsibilities Include participation in fundraising, camp and competition fees and team uniform, practice wear and gear expenses.
