Catholic Action Center
The CAC is open 7 days a week from 8am-7pm.  Service opportunities include preparing and serving meals, laundry care, sorting household goods and clothing, gardening and general upkeep.  Go to

The Community Inn
-
The Community Inn provides overnight shelter, comfort, dignity, and connection to services for men and women experiencing homelessness.  The Inn is open 7 nights a week from 7pm-8am.  Nightly, from 7:30-9:00, classes and clinics are offered...Bible study, computer classes, housing, employment, legal, and medical clinics, NA/AA meetings.  The shelter is located at 824 Winchester Rd. 
DAILY volulnteers are needed for the following shifts: 7pm-9pm, and 7pm-8am.

The Sandwich Ministry
The Sandwich Ministry at The Community Inn- families, groups, individuals are asked to provide and deliver 40-50 sandwiches cut in half to the Community Inn between 7:30-8:30pm on their assigned night.  Please consider reaching out to the hungry in our community by providing this bedtime snack for those staying the night at the Inn.  For more information or to volunteer: Call 514-7210 -

HELP NEEDED Do you like to alphabetize the cans in your pantry?...arrange the clothes in your closet by color?...organize your sock drawer every week whether it needs it or not?...then we have the perfect service opportunity for you!  Mr. Wiesenhahn is looking for a few highly organized students who would be willing to help with a Journalism service/fundraising project.  Please see Mr. Wiesenhahn or Mrs. Waller in Campus Ministry for details. 


HELP NEEDED! St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Toddler Time service is in need of volunteers to provide childcare (1-3 year olds) during the 9am and 11:15am masses each week.  For consistency and reliability, volunteers are asked to commit to at least one shift on the same Sunday each month.  Contact Kelly Dingrando at 797-4041 for more information.

HELP NEEDED! St. Peter's is in need of volunteers on Saturday mornings anytime between 9am-12pm to help with upkeep of the grounds and building.  Please contact the Campus Ministry office for more information.  277-7183 ext 256.

2/3 2012 MidKnight Stakes
Student volunteers are needed to help with set up on Friday, February 3rd from 8:15am-2pm and with clean up on Sunday, February 5th from 10am-1pm.  Please sign up on the SERVE board outside the Campus Ministry office.  Contact Jennifer Waller at 277-7183 ext. 236 for more details.

2/10 2012 Dance Blue!!
Friday, February 10th from 7-midnight-Lexington Catholic's Alumni Gym. Students can earn service hours for participating in Lexington Catholic's 3rd annual Dance Blue Mini Marathon- A Knight for the Kids. Proceeds from the dance will benefit the UK Pediatric Oncology Center.  Students interested in serving on the committee please see Mrs. Waller or Mrs. McGrath in the Campus Ministry office.  Dancer registration will begin on Monday, January 30th. 

2/8 2012 LCHS Student Ambassadors Needed!!
Student ambassadors are needed for a regional eception to be held at the school on Wednesday, February 8th from 5:15pm-7:45pm.  Students will be on hand to conduct school tours for prospective students and their families.  Interested students please see Mrs. Waller in Campus Ministry or Mrs. Towles in the Admissions office to sign up.


2/12 2012 Spread the Love-Save a Life
Sunday, February 12th, 12:30-3:30, 124 North Ashland Avenue.  Students can earn service hours by participating in the 3rd annual "Spread The Love-a-thon"-a suicide prevention event sponsored by Stop Youth Suicide and the UK Adolescent Medicine Department.  Participants are asked to use their cell phones and/or laptops to compete for the greatest number of "lifelines" made to friends and family; each lifeline consisting of two genuine compliments and information about youth suicide.  Visit www.spreadthelovesavealife.org for more information.

3/17 2012 Shamrock Shuffle3K to benefit Habitat for Humanity
Lexington's 6th annual Shamrock Shuffle to benefit Habitat for Humanity will be held on Saturday, March 17th at 8am in downtown Lexington.  Participants can register for the run/walk 3K event online at www.shamrockshuffle3k.com.  The fee (includes the 2012 t-shirt) for early registration is only $18 through the end of January. 

3/23 2012 PAC's 4th Annual Empty Bowls Project 
In conjunction with Campus Ministry, the PAC will host their 4th annual Empty Bowls Project on Friday, March 23rd from 5-7pm in the LCHS Cafeteria. Students are needed to help with set up, meal preparation, serving, and clean up. Please sign up on the SERVE board outside the Campus Ministry office. 5/22 Commencement 
Student ushers are needed for the Baccalaureate Mass at the 2012 Commencement on Sunday, May 20th.  Interested students may sign up on the SERVE board outside the Campus Ministry office.  Questions can be directed to Jennifer Waller or Mrs. McGrath at 277-7183 ext. 236.
