PAC - Parent Actions Corps
The PAC’s Mission is to provide parent resources to support specific programs developed in partnership with the Lexington Catholic High School Administration and Faculty to form and develop the Mind, Spirit and Body of our students.

Many parents of Lexington Catholic students are looking for ways to get involved to help make our school the best that it can be for our children and for all members of the Lexington Catholic Community. The PAC has been formed as a replacement for the LCPO as a Parent Action Corps to more accurately describe our role of serving, and a way for parents to get involved through volunteer time, and by using member dues and contributions to help fund specific school programs, including:
Hospitality-parent volunteers host numerous receptions and key events, including new student orientation, new parent picnic, surprise breakfasts for the faculty and staff, teacher appreciation celebrations, and more.
Academic Boosters-PAC member dues go toward the sponsorship of academic induction ceremonies and special events, including the annual end-of-year academic awards dinner celebration and the annual Performing and Visual Arts College Fair.
Drug Testing-we all want our children to be educated in a safe, drug-free environment. Through the random drug testing program funded by the PAC, we support the efforts of the LCHS Administration.
High Marks-a free in-school tutoring program for any student in need of additional academic support. Through this program, students have access to teachers in a variety of subject areas who can help them achieve their academic goals. In addition to being supported through external fundraising, resources and support for this very valuable program are supplemented by the PAC.
Campus Ministry-the PAC provides both volunteer and monetary support for the Campus Ministry’s mission to provide an environment that will nurture a Spiritual Presence in the Lexington Catholic Community. We also provide help when necessary for students needing financial support to attend retreats. In addition to sponsoring class retreats and other activities, Campus Ministry programs include:
- Parent Prayer Group-meets regularly in the chapel to raise prayer concerns for students, their parents, their families, and for other issues affecting the LCHS Community. The group also incorporates discussions and fellowship on various teenage parenting topics, with materials provided by Campus Ministry.
- Champions UKnighted-moving from middle school to high school can be a daunting experience. Champions UKnighted offers a big brother/big sister experience for the freshman class. Every incoming freshman is contacted by a junior or senior big brother/big sister who has agreed to offer them support, friendship and encouragement throughout the all-important first year of high school. The PAC provides volunteer and financial support and resources to facilitate this program.
- Empty Bowls-an annual Lenten celebration of poverty and humility. Students decorate stoneware bowls that are then auctioned, with buyers sharing a simple meal of soup with other celebrants. All funds raised are donated to organizations helping to feed the needy.
Incoming Parent Outreach-PAC board members serve as a mentoring resource for parents who are new to the Lexington Catholic Community.
Lexington Catholic Parent 101/Meet the Principal and Prez!-building on the success experienced over the last few years with small scale receptions for the parents of prospective students, we will introduce a similar format during the 2011-2012 school year for the parents of current students. While this program is still in development, these receptions would be neighborhood meetings held in volunteer homes and would enable parents to meet with the LCHS President and Principal in an informal small group setting. Watch for more details to come on this exciting new program!
Directory-while an online directory is a wonderful resource, many parents have expressed an interest in having a paper directory that can be quickly and easily accessed. The PAC will provide volunteer support and funding for the development and distribution of this directory, which will be available free to all members.
