Lexington Catholic Launches Its New Tuition Assistance Endowment Fund
One of the most important and enduring aspects of our mission at Lexington Catholic is to provide an affordable faith-based educational opportunity. For several years, we have provided financial assistance to many families through our Tuition Assistance Fund which is distributed annually to families seeking financial assistance. Unfortunately, the current economic climate has placed the school in the position of being unable to meet the assistance needed of our families.
We are pleased to announce we’ve strengthened our long-term commitment to financial assistance by establishing the Lexington Catholic Tuition Assistance Endowment Fund. This fund has been initiated with the eventual goal of using annual interest earned from this fund to enhance our tuition assistance program for Lexington Catholic students.
Every journey must have its first step; as it will take the patience and generosity of our Lexington Catholic community for this fund to generate revenue that meaningfully addresses the critical, growing need for tuition assistance.
Additionally, we are excited to let the LCHS community know about the Endow Kentucky Tax Credit. Kentucky taxpayers will receive a Kentucky income tax credit for contributions to permanent endowment funds until June 30, 2012. You can receive a Kentucky state tax credit of 20% of the amount given, not to exceed $10,000. A $50,000 gift yields a $10,000 tax credit that can be carried forward for up to five years.
A gift to the LCHS Tuition Assistance Fund using the Endow Kentucky Tax Credit is an outstanding way to help us grow this essential new fund while helping significantly reduce your state income tax.
