Prior to becoming the librarian at Lexington Catholic High School in August 2002, Karen McDavid spent 13 years each in Franklin County and Carter County public schools.  She taught language arts classes at the secondary and middle school levels and was librarian at the secondary level.  She is a member of the Kentucky Library Association, the American Library Association, and Beta Phi Mu.
