House System

“The House System will give students an opportunity to become closer as a community across all grade levels.”  - Sally Stevens, Principal.

Lexington Catholic offers nine Houses, named after Catholic saints or religious leaders, to foster a strong sense of belonging and involvement in the campus community.  Each House is comprised of about 90 students, ranging from freshmen to senior status.  Students participate in an induction ceremony upon entering a House, and they remain in the same House throughout their time at LCHS.

Houses compete with each other in contests and challenges that encourage House unity and camaraderie and promote overall school spirit.  At the end of the school year, the House Cup is awarded to the House with the most points.  In addition, each House:

  • Proudly sports its own motto, colors, banner, and t-shirt.
  • Has weekly meetings in its homerooms that promote social interaction and the growth of supportive relationships.
  • Participates in monthly House Day activities that reinforce Lexington Catholic’s motto of building “Mind, Spirit, and Body.”

Lexington Catholic High School is the first and only high school in central Kentucky to offer the House System.
