Wake-UP Call: First Sunday of Advent
Who likes to wait for anything? It’s truly difficult to find people desiring to wait in restaurants, in movies, for a sport team to do well, for relationships to make it through rough times, etc! But, now we must wait—as a spiritual discipline and as a part of God’s plan of salvation! We now turn our hearts and minds to the empty crib scene and await the time of year in which we celebrate the actual birth of the world’s redeemer!!! For the next four weeks we ponder, let the stories of His life’s entrance into our hearts be retold and renewed! We will have a moment to say, “Lord, have mercy” and experience the gift of Forgiveness and we will also have an opportunity to truly gather and celebrate our Savior’s birth on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day! So what are we waiting for? Let’s wait well together—and like the meaning of Advent—for our Lord’s arrival in a glorious way!!! Spiritual Reflection: Why do I not like to wait for anything? How can Advent help me to wait on the Lord? Pray an “Our Father” with “waiting on the Lord” as the intention in your heart.
Special Thanks: To our SPC Steering Committee of the Building Campaign. It was truly a joy and a manifestation of the gifts of our Parish!
