Sandy led us in opening prayer.

Hall of Fame nominations – Nominations will be taken until June 30, 2007.  After that date, it is up to the Alumni Council to review the nominations and make the final decision has to which athletes get inducted during the Hall of Fame game on September 7, 2007.

Alumni Directory

Pam reported that the latest version is underway. Harris Connect is publishing the directory.  The database has been sent to them, and they have sent the e-mail questionnaires out to alumni, followed up with a preliminary letter that mailed last week.  Pam is working with Erin Dansereau on content and everything is moving along smoothly so that the directory should be released by December 2007 or January 2008.

Keeneland Alumni Day

Even though Tom wasn’t at our meeting, Pam confirmed that he will again this year be able to come by the school and load up the beer and coolers to take to Keeneland.  Susie will meet Pam at school around 10 am to help her load up all remaining necessary items.  Menu will be hot dogs, chips, beer, soda, water and homemade brownies and cookies, thanks to Sandy.  We hope to get things setup by 10:30 and open for business by 11 am.  Pam has indicated on postcards and other advertising spots that the festivities are from 11 – 1:00 (post time).

Spring Fling

The band we wanted to hire had a previous commitment, so Pam hired Matt Jaeger.  Pam spoke to him about trying to be more interactive with the crowd.  Tim McDermott, Class of 2000, who is currently working for Thomas – King said they wanted to do something for LCH.  He reported back to her that Johnny Carino’s will provide lasagna and Applebee’s will provide brownies for the Spring Fling.  Somebody just has to pick up the food.  Susie offered to do that.  Pam and Susie will come back to school after Friday’s event to begin to decorate for the Saturday night festivities.  Pam asked all council members to get the word out about Johnny Carino’s and Applebee’s donation and encourage their fellow classmates and friends to come and join in the fun.  Open Bar is provided by the Class of ’77 again this year!

Principal’s Cup - Pam offered brochures to the council members to pass out over the next month.  She has ordered the prizes for the tee gift (Titleist pouches with LC logo), and the winner’s prizes (windshirt pullovers, windshirt vests, etc.)   We need hole-in-one watchers, beverage cart drivers, putting contest worker and shoot for the pool worker.  Todd, Tom and Pam will meet after Spring Fling to go over more details and to enlist help through e-mails from the council.

There was some discussion about the current council’s tenure coming to an end and what the bylaws state about election of new officers and John suggested we read the bylaws and discuss at our next meeting.

Business Lunch -  The next business lunch is set for May 8, 2007, at the Crowne Plaza.  Pam will e-mail the attendees from the February meeting and all the council members need to remind their fellow alumni to attend.

With nothing further to discuss, the meeting was adjourned.

The council will need to meet after the Hall of Fame deadline on June 30th, to choose the nominees.
