New Principal Announced

On behalf of Lexington Catholic High School, it gives me great pleasure to announce our next principal, Mathew P. George.

Mathew, who will begin his duties on July 1, 2018, is a native of St. Louis and was selected following an extensive search and evaluation of multiple candidates. I am deeply grateful for the patient, deliberate approach shown by members of the search committee, and appreciate the considerable time they invested in this process.

He joins us by way of St. Dominic High School in O’Fallon, Missouri, where he has served as Assistant Principal since 2014. Prior to that, he worked at Notre Dame High School in St. Louis, Missouri, where he was an instructor of journalism and business, as well as yearbook advisor, from 2002-2014. He also served as Dean of Students his last six years at that school. Mathew spent 7 years in educational publishing before making the transition to the ministry of serving in Catholic education.

Mathew, who says he will always be a teacher at heart, is excited to lead our instructors and students in the mission of our school, as we collectively strive to build better people. During our visits, it has been quite evident that he truly believes in faith-based education in a close-knit school community like ours. He exudes a confidence that we can create an environment of lifelong learners and empowered productive citizens in society.

He also brings a new perspective and outlook to our school that will lead Lexington Catholic into innovative, exciting directions, while maintaining a strong understanding and support of our long history as a premier Catholic secondary academic institution.

Mathew and his wife, Rosmy, have a four-year-old son, Dominic. I hope you’ll join me in welcoming them to our Lexington Catholic family when they arrive.
